Title: A union worth belonging to
Post by: forklift driver on September 17, 2019, 05:55:09 PM
So I am watching the UAW strike against GM unfold and I have to say that union is actually worth belonging to. Unlike the joke of a union we have in Georgetown with a clown for a union president. The UAW employees make between $58000 to $81000 a year building cars. The local union president can't even keep the steel mill open or get any of us any money near that. And the UAW employees pay 4% of their health care. Steel mill employees pay 50% of their health care. The UAW members all went out on strike together. The last time Georgetown Steel went out they were by themselves. Unions do have a place when they have real leadership.
