Politics and Current Events / Scott Harper censors the truth from Tom Rubillo
« Last post by IWCCTTT on December 07, 2021, 07:32:13 AM »
Scott Harper is continuing his self imposed job as Georgetown censor. Just like when he censored news at the Georgetown waste of my Times. Scooter censored (deleted) Tom Rubillo’s truthful response about Scott refusing to report that the Steel Mill had applied for a new pollution permit. The best part is the comment period closed YESTERDAY. Scott Harper is a sell out to the highest bidder.

e-mail your opinion about whether this permit should be issued or not to www.scdhec.gov.  As for a public hearing.

When does the comments time close? The paper of record Georgetown Times and the local blog GAB news have not covered this story? Are they not going to do their job and inform the public?

I am thankful for a lot of things this year. A lot of things some people are not thankful for. So I will just say thank you here and move on.

We don't have the industry Myrtle Beach has. We have to re-open the steel mill and provide high paying jobs, jobs, jobs.

I had to go up to Myrtle Beach today and I was shocked at how much cheaper gas is there. As I left Georgetown on 17 gas was $3.25. Less than 4 miles away in Myrtle Beach is was $2.87. THAT'S 13% HIGHER PRICES IN 4 MILES! Don't tell me the quality of life is better in Georgetown so we charge more.

Great catch Mr. Rubillo. Does anyone find it curious that Scott Haper just did a article on the steel mill today? But he doesn't mention the request for comments on the air permit. He just says the mill has until Feb. to start back up. So whose payroll is Scott on?

The steel mill has applied to DHEC for a new air quality permit allowing it to resume operations.  The period of public comment on this application is now open.  The deadline for written comments is December 8.  Those wishing to oppose the issuance of this permit must do so in writing.  I have done so, objecting because (1) the city's zoning ordinance no longer allows "heavy industrial use" of the property since those operations stopped in April, 2020 for reasons other than a labor dispute (the only exception in the time limit preceding an automatic change in the zoning status of the land) and (2) insufficient technological improvements have been made and the "best available technology" as required by law would not be used, resulting in release of hazardous or toxic "electric arc dust" into the air.

Republicans, tell your newly elected representatives on city council of this development.  Democrats do the same.  It is time for them all to step forward.  No more hiding in the tall grass.
