Keep Experience on City Council this Tuesday
« on: November 05, 2007, 05:44:40 PM »
The Georgetown City Council will have three of their members up for election on November 6, 2007. It is important that we continue to move forward with the progress and determination reflected by Peggy Wayne, Clarence Smalls and Rudolph Bradley.

These elected citizens of the great city of Georgetown have provided the growth, maturity and backbone this city has desperately needed while in office.

Their dedication to the city and its people bares no comparison to others trying to impose themselves onto the council.

Their efforts to beautify the city and Front Street go beyond the call of duty while the drive for a new city drainage system has been pursued without raising taxes on city residents, and will continue to be so.

Elect Wayne, Smalls and Bradley so they may get back to providing us the stability to fight for the needs and interests of the City of Georgetown.

You are kidding right? Those three are responsible for the lack of getting anything done. If I could vote against them and the others currently on the council I would today. They all need to be thrown off council. And I understand why the "georgetown dummycrat" is saying what his father told him to say. Who cares.

Were there ever any debates sponsored by the question nazi and her buddies?

Did the PEOPLE ever get a chance to indirectly question these folks?

Would it be too much to have DIRECT questions of our wannabe and elected officials?

Oh, excuse me, this is Georgetown.

I support the Democratic slate, so am I Jamie Sanderson or James Sanderson, too?

Since you are so concerned about who people are, why not find out who Bob Sizemore really is because, to me,  he only promotes what he's done in the past, not what he can do in the future.

Futhermore, they are people. They have one vote a piece. The mayor has corrupted this city, not the councilmembers up for election. You need to attend more meetings and find out exactly WHO is FIGHTING and who is DUCKING AWAY from a fight.

The city had a chance to change its mayor, but look who won AGAIN! You get what you vote for. One vote compared to many isn't enough to get things done. Trust me, the three candidates IN THIS ELECTION have done MORE THAN ENOUGH to fight for the city!

There are certain people who do think for themselves around here, and knowing Mr. Sanderson's son, he speaks his own mind and differs more than a few times with his counterpart.

Live life, concerned person... There are more and more people who think the conservative way is a failed way in this city, county and state besides two people.

Marty, Peggy's business is open weekly. You could stop by and DIRECTLY ask her whatever you want. Smalls is at the Longshoremen Hall and Bradley has his number on his cab, so talking to them isn't a problem.

Why wait on a sponsored debate when you can actually walk up these fine elected officials and speak yourself.

I've done what you described before.  But in our society, we have a tradition of assembling voters in one place and having candidates stand up to questions.  It only happens rarely, so what is your problem?

I think the local dems are afraid Sizemore has a real chance because of how the dems have arranged themselves in a circular firing squad recently.

Marty and Rivit have excellent points, but I also want to agree with Marty on the comment of the local Dems working against each other. It needs to change, and Peggy Wayne knows how to fight for this great City, as do Bradley and Smalls.

I think Scoville worries about being other places besides the City Council meetings retreats the Council provides.

I think the mayor is to blame for a large part of the failure of unfinished business in this city, and his involvement with other "dealings" could be argued a conflict of interest.

I am a proud Democrat and I realize the situation needs to change, but rest assured, it's not these three who need to suffer...

I guess the Sandersons are squirming ALL THE TIME now but no where did I mention the slamdersons in my post. Why do the Sandersons want to be the center of everything?

Anyway I just wanted everyone to know I voted for only person. Not the incumbents. That's how the infamous Paige Sawyer keeps getting elected. He tells everyone to only vote for him and no democrats. I hope it works this time. In honor of this being Georgetown I plan to go vote again later the same way.

YES! Vote for only Sizemore! Go Sizemore.

I saw little Sanderson driving the van around picking up people to vote the dummycrats back in. Not illegal but really does tell you how things work here in the city of Georgetown.

they are afraid a weak democrat will lose.  just look at the joint "vote for all three democrats" signs they've illegally placed all over town. of course, Sizemore is no diff.  he violates the law with impunity more than anyone else i've seen, and the city could care less.

To Concerned Person: You did imply Jamie Sanderson by saying he's doing what
his "father" told him to do or say. It's obvious who you are referring to because that's all you and ETFOG refer to.

To FOGGY BOY: Jamie Sanderson was not driving people around and, as I always say, you'd rather attack than refute issues. The Sandersons are not the only DEMOCRATS in this town, Foggy.

I do hope God grants you passage into the world of logic, because you've missed the boat several times.

I implied nothing of the such. You INFERRED it. I don't know etfog but I imagine he or she is a much more honest person than you. You use the tired old democrat montra of "all the other person is doing is attacking" while in truth etfog has offered issues and concerns just like I have. You are the one so defensive. I have one last thing to say to you; whoever you are, stick it in your ear.

I got these numbers off the website of a real newspaper, The Sun News.  Looks like Bradley was the weak one, but not weak enough.  Well, Sizemore sure gave them a scare!

GEORGETOWN

City Council (3 seats)
Rudolph Bradley (i) 624
Bob Sizemore 566
Clarence Smalls (i) 702
Peggy Wayne (i) 721

Concerned Person: Then who did you imply? God? Because Jesus is his son. How about George H. Bush because George W. Bush is his son. Get real, we all know who you meant, pal.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Sizemore didn't scare anybody. Racism did.

The race card was a major factor in this election, and if you break it down
by precinct, you'll see that all too well.

This state is full of racism and it needs to stop. The civil war is over. The Africian-American people here ARE LEGAL CITIZENS.

Let's devote our energies towards something real, and get away from what color some person's skin is.

Like I said, and it was ECHOED BY VOTERS, their EXPERIENCE speaks loud to people.

No matter what people say, race played a card in this election. Congrats to the WINNERS!

Jamie Sanderson deserves a lot of credit on the City of Georgetown's City Council relection of the incumbents.  Due to his hard work and a comittment to electing strong leadership to steer Georgetown forward all three incumbents were successfully relected.  I would like to commend Jamie Sanderson for standing up for his strong values.  Keep up the good work Jamie.  Georgetown needs more young leaders such as you fighting for progress.

Now that I have finished puking, I will explain what made me sick. I knew Jamie would try to take credit for the election outcome. Sorry to burst your bubble man but Peggy Wayne won in 1999 and again in 2003 without one bit of help from you. Rudolph Bradley won in 2003 without your help. Clarence Smalls won in 95, 99 and 2003 with no Sanderson help. ALL THREE WON YESTERDAY ON THEIR OWN MERITS AND NOT BECAUSE OF YOU. Get your ego in check. It was nice that you supported them but for god's sakes get a grip.

Barney Boy, you know nothing. Jamie Sanderson worked day and night with Peggy Wayne and worked with Clarence Smalls and Bradley as well.

If it wasn't for his door-to-door in the West End, Maryville and Willowbank and in the old Beck Middle School area during the primary and general election, views of these city councilmen probably would'nt have changed.

Face it. People were soured by them, and hard WORKERS like Jamie Sanderson got this election turned around in time because the argument of EXPERIENCE OVER NEWBIE won.

This guy is a workhorse and has been since he lived in Columbia. JHe was a field director for Jim Hodges campaign for governor the first time around.

True. He's been absent from times you mentioned, but he's awaken. He's arrived.

We need more people like him. Not talkers, but doers. Take action, not reaction.

Walk the beat, not hiding behind the computer screen.

Great work, from you friends at the Democratic Party.

I wonder why there was no mention of Jamie in the Sun News or Georgetown Times today? I mean since he single-handedly got the three back in office, they should have thanked him publicly. I hope a reporter asks them what they think about little Jamie trying to act like he was their saviour. That is some bad sickness you have, JS. You admit they won in the past on their own merits but you feel like they were headed for the agony of defeat this time until you jumped in a phone booth and came out as Superman and saved them from sure destruction. I know you don't want to hear this but they would have won without your help. They have proven over and over they can win without you. I think moveon.org has an important message for you, so I'll let you get to it. Bye.

There were more than just Jamie, pal, who helped in their cause - as mentioed above. He didn't do anything single-handedly. That's the point. But he was one of few who were so visual in certain areas where others would not be, and you don't get that.

Oh, and I guess everyone must be Jamie here who posts a supportive message for him.

Ok, I'm sitting here waiting to see what all this experience will mean for this city.

I hope I'm wrong, but these folks have a lot of catching up to do.

The Democrats have been in power in G'town for ages.  What exactly has been accomplished, other than the alienation of business owners.

Barney I think Jamie Slamderson deserves a lot of credit for the dummycrat turn out yesterday. Jamie drove that van all day long loading up drunks and deginerates to take them to the polls. Then when he was through with them he started loading people out of the nursing homes and the homebound. Great work Jamie!

Does anyone remember the fake award James gave himself last year? Jamie is patting himself on the back just like his daddy taught him.

You STILL never came by the Union Hall to debunk that claim of his award, now did you.
I remember when I challenged you to when he first received it. Always the talker. :P

ETCOWARD, you really need to get a life. Jamie Sanderson did not drive any van yesterday to load people in to vote. I don't know who you saw, but I saw him when I voted at the library watching the poll for a while.

You still make names for him, his father and others you disagree with and I thought Marty spanked you hard enough to get you to stop, but as all children, they need to be told again and again.

I challenge you as, Demotaker and Georgetown Democrat have, to name yourself. Show up at meetings. Confront the issues and tackle them. Show up at the Union Hall and prove the award is a fake. My name is Brian. Nice to meet you. Hope I can gain your name for the common sake of pleasantries.

Cowards like you will NEVER do this. So, as I laugh  :D while reading your pathetic posts of cheesy disagreement with child-like humor, I'll enjoy the FACT that DEMOCRATS won last night, and you did not.

You are a joke, ETFOG. The Sandersons, heck, the rest of GEORGETOWN make you look like a fool.

Keep writing away into Funnyland. I don't think your term will ever expire.

Marty, run for mayor. The only way to change anything starts with him, plus a couple of others who were not up for election this time around. If you are referring to Front Street, certain business owners need to be alienated for their loopy thoughts that this town would actually survive soley on them.

AH yes. Loopy thoughts and fake names and the same tired old lies. Yes the dummycrats won again. Will wonders ever cease? The black hole of corruption and waste between the successful Charleston County and Horry County. Nothing ever changes in Georgetown. Yes, I should fear the all powerful Slamdersons. I fear them throwing roofing nails on Highway 17 and flattening my tires again. Jamie, you will recognize me on Front Street on Friday. I'll be the one wearing the t-shirt that says "GOT NAILS". Good night.

Hey ETFOG. Remember me, Chad? I hope so. I do remeber you and this just seals the deal for me.

Your name, please. It would be nice to chat with you on a name-to-name basis. You have nothing to be afraid of. Or do you.

When you speak of the Sandersons, you always run them down. Why? Is it because they actually put themselves in the "do-something" spotlight and you don't.

I'll have you know being in Columbia we have our own issues to deal with, and yes, Gervais Street is filled with people like you.

But, we manage to somehow squash the rhetoric. I think the Sandersons get to you more so than scare you. But, as AA mentions, you do nothing but rant. Or do you.

How about disspell the talk and put up some of your accomplishments. I would love to read them, and I'll never write here again if you do, but it has to include your name.

I think this talk is all too funny to me. I mean, it's really childish for one person to keep with the same, boring talk of yesterday news while these other posters bring up fresh topics.

ETFOG, why don't you just name yourself or what you do or whatever you have done and put this to rest. It's really your move until the you answer them.

I feel that if you talk the talk, walk the walk. The Sanderson do, how about you?

"Since you are so concerned about who people are, why not find out who Bob Sizemore really is because, to me,  he only promotes what he's done in the past, not what he can do in the future."
You know, last time I checked, we can only promote what we have done in the past...unless you're a fortuneteller, a prognosticator, or have ESP. And you really should have found out who is is before you went bashing him, it's just not the Christian way.

"The mayor has corrupted this city, not the councilmembers up for election." According to Hillary, it takes a whole village. There's NO WAY Linwood could have done it ALL by himself.

After reading all the ranting, spewing, hate-mongering, condescending drivel here concerning this matter, non-partisan city elections is really the only way to go at this point. Which seemed to really be Bob's platform. Right now it's a popularity contest with a "Clemson vs. Carolina" mentality.

This one popped up for one of my old posts today. Just curious. Where is the Georgetown Democrat AKA Jamie Sanderson these days?

He thought he was so powerful back a few years ago.

I have not seen him and the green bomb in a long time.

Did he get his job back at the Steel Mill?
