Disgusted taxpayer

This is a perfect example of the arrogance in the Georgetown County Government. Susan Edwards says it is not her job to make things easy for the taxpayers. She should be fired immediately. Want to bet that will never happen.

Tax protest: ‘Why should we make it easy?’
 By Tommy Howard, thoward@gtowntimes.com July 26, 2006
“We don’t have any forms” for taxpayers to use to file reassessment appeals, Georgetown County Assessor Susan Edwards told the Times on Tuesday.
People can file an appeal if they think the value of their home is too high. “They can write on a brown paper sack,” she said.
“Why should we make it easy?” Edwards asked.

Thanks to the Georgetown Times for revealing this side of this woman. I will send my appeal in on a paper bag!

I saw that too and was too busy and disgusted to comment on it.

Very arrogant and out of line.

Can't wait to see what they think my house is worth.

Not sure about your house Marty but I bet it is worth more than an office with plastic Wal Mart chairs for furniture. If you know what I mean? Grin Grin Grin

The arrogance starts at the top and trickles down to people like Susan Edwards.

Susan Edwards was way out of line.  She deserves a public spanking.

Yeah Jackie. I heard she used to be a hair dresser too!

I'm not sure what you're trying to say there.  Please explain the connection between hairdressers (sounds archaic) and spankings.

all too often, our public employees forget for whom they work, but this is not just a local issue.  take a look at elected officials throughout the nation and world and the bureaucrats who implement their policies.

We are of course off topic.  Regarding the frequency of posting - we don't have hard and fast rules, but posts should be on topic and contribute to the discussion.  Long winded posts are not encouraged.  Short pithy responses are ok, but should not be overdone.

The most important thing is to contribute.  Jack has done that.  If you think he's too prolific in his responses and you say so in a thread that has nothing to do about his frequency of posting, then I'd say the commenting poster is out of line.

Ok?  Understood.  Start a new thread about it.
