On any weekend, one can find parked behind the City
Law Enforcement Center on High Market Street 17 to
20 Police Vehicles inside the locked upscale gates. They
stay unused all weekend..I swear they do...

What is the deal! Is There is no police protection on the weekend/
or do only the entry level police officers work on the weekend/
or do we have too many vehicles...So what is the thinking here.

Maybe I am wrong but something about this picture is just
 not framed!!

It simply looks like a business that doesn't work on the
weekends..I would suggest that more accountability be
given by the Mayor, Police Chief and City Council to the
purchase of new cars which are not being used..

Maybe we should sell off some of these vehicles to match
the number of police officers who actually use them..

Ah I see... lot's of cars, not many drivers or maybe the drivers are all inside doing other things.  That may the reason cars and trucks speed up and down the historical residential district and I'm sure other areas.  This has been a point made by someone recently in letters to the editor of G'Town Times.

LET'S PUT THE "MEDIA HOG" ON THIS
PROJECT.  Oh, I forgot.. This is the dept.
that overlooked his car thieft. No chance
                of that!!!!

In all seriousness, the police dept. must
or should be held accountable. Not only
with monies, but in the solving of crimes
such as the murder of Joey.

I guess you are talking about Scotty Hapless? No way he will print anything negative about the city PD.

For my own curosity, I checked this afternoon and
      discovered the following:

18 City police cars parked which signifies to one
that only a very few low ranking officers work
      on the weekend.

Therefore, why do we need to buy a car
lot for the police force in Georgetown.

The next time Furr comes before the council
for cars/equipment, I would strongly say NO!!

City Council..Please demand that the Police Dept.
more aggressively pursue unsolved crimes such
     as the JOEY MURDER......................

All they can do is write tickets. They can't solve a crime unless the criminal turns himself in. They can dam sure write you a ticket in a school zone so keep a close eye on your speedometer when school starts.
